I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistical Sciences at the School of Science & Technology, IE University.
My research develops flexible statistical models—P-splines, mixed models, and computational statistics—together with flexible survival for recurrent events and latent memory representations for longitudinal athlete monitoring, with applications in health and sports science.
My path runs from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (PhD, 2010), through a postdoc at CSIRO / Data61 in Melbourne (2011–2014), to BCAM in Bilbao (2014–2022), where I led Applied Statistics and coordinated Data Science and AI in the Knowledge Transfer Unit, before joining IE University.
